Last Sunday I attended the Winter 2014 issue release party for Edible Hawaiian Islands at Taste in Kaka'ako. The vibe was lighthearted and organic, echoing the tone of the quarterly publication. Jennifer and Christina Hee (above left and right, respectively) of Kale’s Natural Foods and macrobiotic chef Leslie Ashburn catered the delicious event.
I was fortunate to contribute photos to Catherine Toth’s article Gooch Goes Raw detailing local chef Mark Noguchi’s vegan “cooking class” with the Hee sisters. My photos are nothing extraordinary, but being my first publication I was excited to see the issue. I loved the hearty, raw feel of the paper in my hands. Pick up a copy for interesting reads and healthy recipes.
Printed publications may limit the number of photos per story, but blogs do not! We had even more fun than showed up on paper…here are some photos that didn’t make the cut.
